Rice EMS to use IVs , advanced drugs

His car collided with an eas tbound Jeep . Williams, 19, and the two passengers in the Jeep died at the scene. T h r e e o ther eas tbound travelers were injured. W i e s s C o l l e g e M a s t e r Michael Gustin said in the two weeks Williams was at Rice, he made many fr iends among freshmen and upperc lassmen. "He was very good at putt ing people at ease, so it was very easy for him to have a lot of f r iends," Gustin said. "And he did have a lot of f r iends within a shor t period of time." Sid R i c h a r d s o n C o l l e g e junior Lindsay Balthrop, who was Williams' co-fellow dur ing Orientation Week, said Williams was very social. Balthrop said Williams was upbeat even after he fell and briefly lost consciousness dur ing Wiess ' ski ts at the end of O-Week. Balthrop said Wi l l i ams l a u g h e d and a s k e d abou t t h e o t h e r m e m b e r s of his O-Week group while in the ambulance on the way to the emergency room. He liked to sha re funny stories, s h e said. "He was a vibrant personality, almost electric," Balthrop said. "You could talk to him for one time for 15 minutes and feel like you knew a lot about him because lie was so ready to get to know people."
